The 31st Bangkok International Motor Show, opening for the public tomorrow, follows the trend from last year which is about the environment, and this year’s theme is “Ecology Driving Save the Earth. Not less than 26 car and motorcycle manufacturers participate this year, and a total of 1.8 million visitors are expected during the 12-day event.
From the 4x4 aspect the most attractive booth is built by Isuzu.
Their highlight is the special version of MU7, named ‘Groove’, featuring sporty design and special accessories, like entertainment system comprising TV tuner, DVD player and Kenwood loudspeakers, built-in Bluetooth connection, and not to be missed i-GENii navigation system with Thai menu.
Among the new models to be shown are SUVs BMW X1 and Hyundai Tucson. The smallest BMW SUV is going to the market with a 2.0 liter ‘Advanced Diesel’ engine producing 177 horsepower.
Hyundai’s compact SUV comes with a 166hp 2.0 liter DOHC engine and 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift. Both two and all-wheel drive versions are offered for the Thai market, and company plans to sell 200 units this year.
