FIAT'S FIRST CHRYSLER

Derived from the Dodge Journey, the Freemont SUV is the first fruit of the partnership concluded between the Fiat Group and Chrysler, world premiered at Geneva Motor Show. Successor to the slow-selling Ulysse, Fiat Freemont is a mildly reworked version of the Dodge Journey crossover launched in Europe in 2008 and now being phased out
It has minor exterior design changes including revised bumpers, grille and LED tail lights and more responsive steering and suspension systems. Spacious, practical and versatile, it has seven standard seats and generous equipment. It will be available initially with front-wheel drive a nd a choice between two 2-litre turbodiesel engines, producing 140 or 170hp. Later, the vehicle will also be available in 4x4 versions with 170hp 2.0 MultiJet and 276hp 3.6 petrol V6 engines, both with automatic transmissions.
It will be produced in the Mexican plant of Toluca, where the Fiat 500 is produced for the US market, and will go on sale in the second half of 2011.
