WORLD DEBUT ACROSS TWO CONTINENTS

The all-new Lexus NX was revealed almost simultaneously at the 2014 Beijing Auto Show and the New York International Automobile Show. The new model is the brand's first entry into the luxury compact crossover segment and is the first turbo in the lineup. 

The Lexus LF-NX concepts, originally introduced at the 2013 Frankfurt and Tokyo Motor Shows, influenced the striking and emotional design of the NX. The NX will be the fourth vehicle in Lexus' luxury utility vehicle lineup and positioned below the RX.

NEW LEXUS LF-NX CONCEPT FOR TOKYO

Lexus will display the LF-NX compact crossover SUV concept at the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show.

The Lexus LF-NX concept, which made its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this year, has been outfitted with a newly developed 2.0-liter turbo engine for guaranteed power and improved fuel economy.

ADVANCED CROSSOVER CONCEPT FROM LEXUS

A new Lexus mid-size crossover concept, the LF-NX, made its world debut at the 2013 Frankfurt motor show, a study that explores the potential for this kind of vehicle in the Lexus model range.

More compact than the RX at 4,640 mm long with a 2,700 mm wheelbase length, the LF-NX concept focuses on the growing segment of smaller, more urban-centric mid-sized premium crossovers, attracting a new, more design-oriented generation of discerning Lexus customers.

VOLUNTARY RECALL OF TOYOTA LAND CRUISER

Toyota Motor Europe would make a voluntary recall of around 7.500 units of Toyota Land Cruiser 150 (Prado) and Lexus GX 460 in Europe in order to carry out a reprogramming of the Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) software to improve its responsiveness in very limited circumstances and to ensure customer satisfaction.

While the recalled vehicles are safe to drive under normal driving conditions, on certain vehicles equipped with the optional Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, when the driver makes a sharp turn of the steering wheel at high speed, or when the driver negotiates a curve to the right at excessive speed, there is a possibility for the car to slide out, even though it is a controllable situation. This is due to an insufficient activation of the VSC system when the vehicle is driven under certain extreme driving conditions. The issue was investigated following a report in a US based consumer magazine. To date, there have been no reports of complaints or accidents linked to this issue in Europe.

The affected vehicles in Europe are only left-hand drive versions, no right-hand drive models are affected. The voluntary recall includes the Toyota Land Cruiser 150, available across Europe, and the Lexus GX 460 which is only available in certain Eastern European markets. A remedy for this issue has been announced by Toyota Motor Corporation. All customers owning one of the involved models will be personally notified in the coming days.
